Message from Fr Keith
Although churches can stay open legally for communal worship, we have been asked by the Government to stay at home and to limit our contact with other households. The new strain of Covid is easily transmitted and, within Gateshead, there has been an increase in the number of people being infected and hospitalisations in the QE.
After much reflection over the weekend, I have decided that from a moral stance, I have no choice but to close both St Peter’s and Corpus Christi Churches with immediate effect except in the case of funerals. Other Catholic churches in the diocese have done the same. This has not been an easy decision for me to make. I would like to thank the cleaners and stewards who have very kindly given up their time over the last few months to ensure that we have a safe building to worship in. It is much appreciated. The closure will be reviewed every 2 weeks and, hopefully, we will be open again in the near future. Take care. Fthr Keith.

Deacon Tom will lead Services of the Word on Zoom every day from Monday to Friday and also on Sundays at 10.00am. All are welcome.

FOOD CO-OP
Please continue to bring food donations for the vital work of the Food Co-op. These can be left at Corpus Christi Church Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday from 10.00 – 12.00 or St Peter’s presbytery back door at any time in the container provided.
ONLY the following items are requested at present as storage space for anything else is limited. This list will be updated weekly.
